I have an aftermarket HD full front fender fitted to my 96. Measure between the forks and then look in the HD parts books for one the same width. I had to have the bracket modified and then had the fender painted to match the yellow on my 96. It works great to keep the trash and water from being thrown up behind the windshield and on the engine. Another option I looked at and think would look great would be to take the Suzuki 250 cruiser fender and have a body shop narrow it to fit the Savage. Interesting that the 250 has wider forks than the 650. I was at a cycle recycling shop in Spokane WA yesterday and found a Preston Petty IT rear fender for $12. What a find, will work next winter to fit it to the rear it has an integeral tail/stop lamp and will cover the rear better and match the front. Hope I can find someone to make the paint stick to the plastic. Also have some 60's Shoei hard bags to fit so it will look like the mid to late 60's touring bikes. Happy customizing Max
